Truck accident causes congestion in Amanzimtoti

Metro Police were at the scene directing peak hour traffic.

A HORSE and trailer timber truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident on the N2 northbound in Amanzimtoti on Friday morning, February 18.

Reporting from the scene of the accident, South Coast Sun reporter says, the accident happened on the Amanzimtoti River bridge and the truck seems to have left the road at around 07:00 and slammed on the guard rails, losing some wheels off the trailer.

The road was not obstructed, but traffic had slowed down and built up. The R102 in Doonside also experienced congestion on the northbound lane.

Metro Police were at the scene directing traffic.

The truck lost the trailer wheels on the left side.
