Amanzimtoti accident claims a life

The bend has seen many accidents happen on it on a regular basis.

A CAR accident at the infamous bend near the Amanzimtoti River bridge on Kingsway Road claimed another life today, October 10.

PT Alarms spokesperson Devan Govindsamy said the accident claimed the life of a passenger, while the driver and two other occupants were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

“PT Alarms stopped to assist while metro police, SAPS and other security service providers, towing services and community members who were present also offered assistance,” said Govindsamy.

The sharp bend has been to known to have serious accidents occurring on it periodically when drivers fail to negotiate it.
