Lower Illovo Neighbourhood Watch elects new executive committee
Austin Gounden replaced Malcolm Naidoo as the new chairperson.

THE Lower Illovo Neighborhood Watch (LINW) held an annual general meeting (AGM) on March 17 to elect the new executive committee.

Austin Gounden was elected as the new chairperson, replacing Malcolm Naidoo. In a statement, the LINW thanked Merlene Matthew who is the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum’s chairperson, and Rishane Rajkoomar, Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum’s secretary for coordinating the AGM and the elections.
“We, as the new executive committee, are looking forward to working together with community members and other stakeholders to fight against crime in the area,” they said.
The office bearers are:
Bryan Baxter – deputy chairperson
Renaldo Marimutho – patrol leader
Chesney Reddy – secretary
Keagan Naidoo – treasurer
Alyssa Ramalingam – public relations officer
Siyabonga Makhanya – additional member
Brian Krishna – additional member
