THE Toti Berea Community Police Forum (CPF) is preparing to host its third annual bring-and-braai community event on June 8, which promises to be a memorable day for all.

The event will be held at Kuswag Skool from 13:00 to 17:00, and André Hooijberg of the Toti Berea CPF said it will be a day of fun, unity and community spirit. Everyone is welcome.

“The bring and braai is more than just a social gathering; it’s a celebration of our community’s strength and solidarity. It brings together families, friends and neighbours for an afternoon filled with joy and interaction. This event is a shining example of how community initiatives can foster stronger, safer neighbourhoods,” said Hooijberg.

Local security companies are stepping up once again to support the event, providing a jumping castle for the children and offering free popcorn for everyone. There will be exciting prize giveaways, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. DJ Miklus, a beloved local figure whose versatile playlist is sure to please attendees of all ages, will provide the music, from classic hits to modern favourites. In a significant addition to this year’s event, Hooijberg said the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) will conduct a blood donation drive.

“This initiative is an excellent opportunity for attendees to contribute to a life-saving cause. We urge all eligible participants to consider donating blood as your generosity could help save lives and make a substantial impact,” he said.
