Best of Toti counting of votes continues

As we continue counting a record number of votes received this year, we wait with bated breath to see who will wear the winner’s crown in each category.

ALTHOUGH voting for the Best of Toti Readers’ Choice Awards has closed, tallying the votes is in full swing.

The good news is that this year marks a record number of votes received. The mammoth task of tallying the votes by our dedicated team, who are making sure this nail-biting exercise is done accurately and fairly, is certainly leaving us on the edge of our seats.

With already more than 57 000 registered votes counted, the sheer volume of the votes cast is leaving us all wondering just who will wear the winner’s crown in each category.

This is the first time that the South Coast SUN has gone digital with not only nominations but also voting for the best of the best, and we are extremely proud of the number of votes received this year. Not only are we shouting from the rooftops with pride but we have also come to the conclusion that service is paramount in everyone’s lives based on the votes that have already been tallied.

In the Professional Service category, already more than 20 000 votes were received.

Coming in second is the Food and Drink category with more than 16 000.

So, it’s pedal to the metal while we join the community in waiting with bated breath.

While many businesses are ecstatic to have been nominated and made it into the voting stage, we are, however, still inundated with business owners who are very concerned as to why they were not on the nominations list.

“Some businesses don’t realise that we don’t choose the nominees for the Best of Toti Reader’s Choice Awards. It’s the public, our readers, who nominate and select the winners. That’s why it’s called the Readers’ Choice Awards. Our newspapers, websites, and social media pages are just the platforms that make it all happen,” said Nicole Bérichon, business manager – Caxton Durban.

Follow our social media pages on Facebook, X (Twitter) or Instagram for news on the winners.

Winners will be announced on July 24, on our website, bestofsouthafrica.co.za/toti, and in the newspaper.

The South Coast SUN, distributed on Thursdays every week, will keep you updated on the much-anticipated winners for this year.
