Motorist hijacked in Orient Hills

PT Alarms spokesperson Devhan Govindasamy said the perpetrators fled with the victims' white A-series Mercedes with the number plates DIVI-B-ZN.

THE search for a car that was taken from an Orient Hills motorist at gunpoint on August 11 is still underway.

A motorist and his passenger were hijacked by four perpetrators who are believed to have been travelling in a white Toyota Urban Cruiser. PT Alarms spokesperson Devhan Govindasamy said the perpetrators fled with the victims’ white A-series Mercedes with the number plate DIVI-B-ZN. A case was opened at the Isipingo police station.

“If spotted, please contact PT Alarms on 086 999 0557,” said Govindasamy.

In a separate incident, three suspects were arrested on the R603 recently during a combined operation by members of Amanzimtoti police’s Crime Prevention Unit, ET Rapid Response Tactical Response Team, and the CCPO.

In a statement, ET Rapid Response said a vehicle linked to a theft incident in Scottburgh was spotted in the Amanzimtoti area after the vehicle’s information and location were circulated. The suspects were arrested and taken to the Amanzimtoti police station for further processing.
