Seadoone ‘killers’ case to get underway

The men suspected of killing a taxi owner at Seadoone Mall, as well as rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, will make another appearance in court.

THE case against brothers Malusi and Siyabonga Ndimande, who have been accused of killing a taxi owner in Amanzimtoti in 2022, as well as rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane in Durban several months later, will get underway in June.

Both abandoned their bail applications when they appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on April 10, and will be remanded in custody at eBongweni Correctional Centre, a maximum security prison in Kokstad, until their next appearance.

The Ndimande brothers are accused of shooting William Kunene, 57, at Seadoone Mall as he finished loading groceries in his car on November 9, 2022.

In February, Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead in Morningside, and the state alleges that after killing them, the siblings fled to Eswatini, where they were holed up until they were extradited to South Africa in 2025.

All the cases have been consolidated with others, and in total, the pair faces four counts of murder, two of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and firearms charges.
