Councillor André Beetge said the shutdown is necessary to allow UUW’s technical teams to repair a leak identified on a 600mm diameter pipeline between Reservoir 4 and the Quarry reservoir.

“The repair work is expected to take approximately eight hours, with normal operations anticipated to resume once the repairs have been completed,” said Beetge.

The outage will affect areas supplied from the Almond Road reservoir, from St Winifreds, Uitsig, Lower Illovo, up to Quarry towards Umkomaas.
