Amanzimtoti CPF launches visibility campaign
Meet your neighbourhood watch patrollers in action from Athlone Park to Illovo Township.
THE Amanzimtoti Community Policing Forum (CPF) launched their visibility campaign on Saturday, August 6 at 20:00.
The purpose of the campaign is to make residents aware of the proactive safekeeping activities of the CPF and neighbourhood watches.

“We take pride in the courageous men and women who have joined their local neighborhood watch groups and CPF sub-forums to serve and protect their communities in the past year,” said Toti CPF public relations officer, Estelle van Eeden.
Volunteer patrollers work in partnership with security companies and Amanzimtoti SAPS, patrolling their own neighborhoods, from Athlone Park all the way to Illovo Township. “They do this every night to deter crime as the eyes and ears of law enforcement,” she said.
The visibility campaigns will take the form of motorcades through residential areas as well as vehicles standing off at the exit and entry points of Amanzimtoti.
“As the Amanzimtoti CPF, we would like to allay any fears residents may have when they see these vehicles. There is no current threat of unrest or looting.
“The visibility campaigns are essentially a reminder to the Amanzimtoti community that there are teams who work tirelessly and often unseen to protect your families,” said Van Eeden.
Residents are encouraged to connect with their neighbourhood watches. For more information, email pro@toticpf.org.za.
