Planned water outage in Umbumbulu and Adams Mission

Reservoirs were filled to their maximum capacity in anticipation of the outage.

ETHEKWINI Municipality residents from certain areas in Umbumbulu and Adams Mission should be aware of a planned shutdown of the Umbumbulu water supply system by Umgeni Water, on Tuesday, August 30, from 07:00 to 19:00.

The City’s spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela, said the pipeline will be shut off, drained, and isolated to install isolating valves and new meters. Prior to the shutdown, the Umbumbulu flow was increased to fill up affected reservoirs to their maximum capacity.

The following areas will be affected:
Umbumbulu (Wards 96, 100, and 105)
▪ Mbovu
▪ Mpushini
▪ eZigeni
▪ Pitela
▪ NoNgidi
▪ Ndindiza
▪ Mphephethwa
▪ Ndlandlama
▪ Phangisa
▪ Madundube
Adams Mission (Wards 96 and 67)
▪ Diphini
▪ Sheleni Road (Khanyile, Njapha, Gugulabanguni)
▪ Zwelisha
▪ Nkangala
▪ Ekuphileni
▪ Shozi MaZungu

“The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused,” said Mayisela.
