Suspect arrested for tool theft in Amanzimtoti

A burglary suspect was arrested after panic and beam activations were received by emergency personnel.

A MAN was arrested for stealing tools from a complex on Bhengu Road in Amanzimtoti on Friday,  January 6.

In a statement, ET Rapid Response said after panic and beam activations were received, the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO), ET Rapid Response, and Amanzimtoti SAPS officers responded.

“A suspect had trespassed through units in the complex. He had also stolen a bag and cable from a technical vehicle which was parked on site while the technicians were busy working inside a unit,” it said.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Amanzimtoti police station for further processing.
