#DeJagerMurderCase: Applying for bail

SUN journalist Vusi Mthalane reports from the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court where Werner de Jager is expected to apply for bail.

MURDER accused Werner de Jager has arrived at the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court where he is expected to apply for bail.

He is currently in the court’s holding cells, waiting for his case to be called. De Jager has been in custody since November 24, when he was arrested by detectives from the National Cold Case Investigation Unit in Bloemfontein. He is accused of murdering his wife, Reverend Liezel de Jager, in October 2021.

The court is a hive of activity as journalists from different media houses wait for court proceedings to get underway.
