Police, security conduct raids in Isipingo CBD
These surprise raids will continue throughout the year with the aim to reduce drugs and weapons on the streets.
A RECENT raid in Isipingo CBD led to the seizure of dangerous weapons, showcasing law enforcement’s commitment to enhancing community safety and security.
Isipingo Police Station’s communications officer, Constable Donald Naidoo, said in a collaborative effort to tackle crime in the CBD, a major search operation was conducted in August in the Isipingo policing precinct.

“The operation, led by our members, included a strong presence from metro police, private security companies and the Community Policing Forum (CPF). The search is part of a wider strategy by law enforcement to reduce the presence of drugs and weapons in the area,” he said.
Naidoo said similar operations have been carried out across the province, with authorities highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for learners.
“In addition to removing dangerous items, these raids serve as a strong deterrent for criminals who may be involved in or exposed to criminal activities. The police and other stakeholders plan to continue these surprise searches throughout the year,” he said.
