The Bluff’s Rory Booth is ready to once again take centre stage as the star of this family friendly musical of Puss in Boots.

KICKSTART Theatre Company is back with this year’s pantomime explosion, Puss in Boots, played by The Bluff’s very own Rory Booth, who oozes charm as the cunning feline hero. Taking on the lead, Booth brings his signature wit and charisma to the character of Puss in Boots. A familiar face in KickstArt’s much-loved pantomimes, Booth expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s production.

“I’ve always been the biggest Zorro fan, and Puss in Boots gives me a chance to live my Spanish fantasy, sword in hand, chasing down villains and saving the day. It is feel-good, family entertainment, for sure, and fantastic to play a character audiences have fallen in love with way back in the Shrek films,” he said.

Sharing the stage with Booth is fellow The Bluff resident Roshanda Lewis as Princess Miranda. This 2024 version is going to be a fantastic combination of laughs, toe-tapping music and audience participation under the direction of Darren King.

Expect to hear the classic hits like “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge, “Sway” by Michael Bublé and more current hits such as Sara Bareilles’ “Brave” and Mariah Carey’s “Hero.”

Booth spoke about the special magic of pantomime and its popularity. “It’s not just a show, it’s an interactive adventure where the audience plays an active role in helping shape the story and saving the day,” he said.

Showtimes:

  • Weekdays and Sundays: 14:30
  • Saturdays: 11:00 and 15:30.
