[Video] Flood victims’ bodies recovered in Adams Mission and KwaMakhutha

Mudslides following heavy rain wreaked havoc in the early hours of the morning in Adams Mission and KwaMakhutha.

THE bodies of three people have been recovered after they were buried alive in mudslides triggered by heavy rains in Adams Mission and KwaMakhutha today (February 20).

A couple was buried while asleep in their home in Adams Mission, and another victim’s body was recovered in KwaMakhutha.

In both incidents, heavy rains caused a landslide at around 02:00, causing mud and water to flood and bury homes while occupants slept. In Adams Mission, the dead couple’s three children escaped unharmed. Emergency services using sniffer dogs recovered the bodies just after 11:00.

In KwaMakhutha, emergency personnel and the police also recovered the body of a man in his 30s who was trapped in the mud.
