On February 21, the exciting weekend started with a celebration of Sarah-Paige Hall and Rebecca Salmond for receiving their Springbok awards. The following day, they received their certificates from the regional commissioner at Founders Day. The scouts’ Chante Lemon, said the Springbok award is the highest that a scout can achieve from the scout group leader (SGL).

“Our young Siyabonga Mhlongo received his Leaping Wolf certificate, the highest award a cub can achieve, at Founders Day. Our group also achieved a gold award for 2024, received and managed by our SGL, Colleen Weeks (Goose),” said Chante.

Pack leader, Giselle Hall (Chil), received a special service award. Later that day, the group headed to Amanzimtoti High School’s swimming pool for the annual Swimming Badge Day.

“Our Meerkats, cubs and scouts completed the various swimming badges and we had a very successful and fun afternoon together. Our hearts are filled with pride at all the achievements – congratulations everyone,” she said.
