The 21st annual School of Succession drew over 260 vibrant young people for what host Shailen Singh describes as a life-changing event.

“Dynamic speakers ignited passion, purpose and faith in the next generation. Speakers provided master classes on contemporary subjects such as artificial intelligence (AI), mental health, politics and agriculture. It was a resounding success,” said Singh, who is also the director of Jems Foundation and Veritas Life Solutions.

The conference hosted delegates from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, as well as those from Zambia and Malawi over its three-day run from August 22-24.

The end goal of School of Succession is to invest into future leaders and equip them to reach their potential in the various domains within which they may find themselves.
Dr Yudhvir Seetharam spoke in detail about AI, its place within the world, its value, and touched on how its existence should not be feared, and rather seen for how it may assist people to have more time to do what they are meant to do.

“You are not meant to be an expert in everything,” said Seetharam, who explained that certain things are fine to be answered by a machine, more especially if they are outside of the user’s areas of expertise.
