In the SUN 40 years ago: Brian Lendrum appointed head of Toti Primary

In a fitting turn of timing, Amanzimtoti Primary recently bid farewell to its outgoing principal, Tracey Vorster, who led the school for the past five years.

THIS week in 1985, Brian Lendrum, former headmaster of Warner Beach Senior Primary School, was named the new principal of Amanzimtoti Primary School, with his tenure beginning in January 1986.

Born in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), Lendrum had served eight years as headmaster at Warner Beach, during which the school saw a significant rise in enrolment, the addition of new buildings, and extensive development of its grounds.
