WINKLESPRUIT Surf Lifesaving Club congratulates competitors for their efforts at the KZN South lifesaving champs held at Warners in trying conditions on Sunday, 18 January.
Many were competing for the first time and the club is extremely proud of them.
The juniors won their section and the seniors came second. The prestigious Iron Man events were won by Gene Prato, senior and Arryon Taylor, junior. Competitors in the various age groups were Kelly Fell (U15 girls), Kegan Lloyd (U15 boys) and Terri-Lee Prato (U19 girls ). Many thanks to parents and nippers for supporting the team.
Rumour has it that Sarah was heard mumbling, after winning the mixed double-ski, that she really needs to get Gene into shape as she is getting tired of doing all the hard work on the back of the double-ski.
ompetitors are reminded to keep up the training for KZN champs for juniors on Sunday, 1 February at Winklespruit and seniors on Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 March at Durban Surf Lifesaving Club.
Thanks also go to Dean Button (injured shoulder and all) for all the hard work over the weekend in repairing the roof, members to assist this coming weekend as this needs to be completed.
The nippers have exams coming up, so do as much swimming as you can, remember this enables you to compete in the various competitions.
There will be a darts evening at the club on Friday night, everyone is welcome. See you on the beach.
