Elaine helps Brian to nominated mixed 2-4-2 win

The Steve Evenwel mixed 2-4-2 will be played on Sunday, 12 June.

BRIAN Bodley and Elaine Critchlow were victors over Steve Evenwel and Maureen Griffin in the nominated mixed 2-4-2 at Winklespruit Bowling Club.

In the men’s singles championship semi final, Mike Kruger beat Eddie Bingham.

Estelle Van Der Merwe and Sylveigh Ananiadis were the winners over Lulu Bingham and Elmarie Young in the women’s nominated pairs final round. Bill Hobbs was victorious over Freddie Hetterscheidt in the first round of the men’s senior singles.

Overall winners of the Kwik Spar trips which was played on Thursday, 2 June were Pam Chalder–Royle, Jeanette Els and Dot Liebertrau. Elaine Critchlow, Norma Raath and Margaret Van Belkum won the first session and the second session went to Marge Eriksen, Pipa Hanel and Gay Jutte. Norma Raath won the 100 board and the spider winner was Denise Bingham.

Bessie Vergottini won the attendance draw on Friday evening.

There will be a meal this Friday evening, 10 June. Indicate if you are interested for catering reasons.

The Winklespruit men’s team won the fifth round of the men’s interclub league played against Umhlali on Saturday, 4 June. The Winklespruit women’s interclub league team were also victorious against Morningside in the first round of the women’s interclub league.

The Steve Evenwel mixed 2-4-2 will be played on Sunday, 12 June. Indicate on the list on the notice board if you will be available to play.

There will be social bowls on Wednesday and Friday afternoon, however players should note the winter starting time for these sessions which is 1.45pm for 2pm.

Members must take note of club competitions on the competition board. Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all those who are not well. Prayers and thoughts are with everyone.
