Bowling fun continues at Toti club

Men and women will compete in the next round of the inter-club league on Saturday, 4 May.

Following the recent floods, Amanzimtoti Bowling Club’s (ABC) three greens were all under water.

However, thanks to the excellent drainage system and the hard work of the greens committee and staff, competitions were able to go ahead this past weekend.

The men’s novice singles got underway on Saturday, 27 April. As there were nine entrants, it was decided to arrange the players into three groups and play a round robin format. In the first section, Fred Rautenbach beat Danny Ross but lost to Shane Wilkinson. In the second section, Paul Davies had a close win over Shaun Fagan and in the third section, Dean Cooper defeated Ronnie Wobben, but Dean lost by one shot by Keith West. There is everything to play for in the next rounds until the final three players emerge in the finals.

Well done to Julie Sutherland and Jane Coetzee, who beat Stella Erasmus and Kathy Cox in one of the women’s drawn pairs quarter finals. Note that women’s drawn and nominated pairs as well as open singles have now been carded. The information will be posted on the notice board.
