KwaMakhutha learner selected for national team
Okuhle Sithole is no stranger to facing tough opposition on the field. Soon, she and a fellow learner from her school will head off to another national soccer tournament where they hope to score top spot.
AFTER finishing the U15 National Soccer Championships held in Johannesburg from August 8 to 11 as the top goal scorer, Okuhle Sithole of KwaMakhutha has received another call-up to the national U15 girls’ squad that will play in Namibia in September.

The CAF African Schools Championships will see school teams from around Africa descend to Namibia where they will battle it out for top honours from September 9 to 12. Oluhle Magutshwa, who also goes to KwaMakhutha Comprehensive High School with Okuhle, has also been selected for the team.
The U15 National Soccer Championships were played in Sturrock Park at the University of Witwatersrand, and the pint-sized Okuhle finished the tournament having scored seven goals.
KwaMakhutha Comprehensive High School’s principal, Mduduzi Mngadi, said Okuhle and Oluhle have raised the flag of the school high.
“Congratulations to both our learners, and we are all proud of their achievements. The hard work they have put on the field is shining through,” said Mngadi.
