Usher in the New Year in style

The Amafullthrottle New Year’s Festival 2013 takes place once again at the picturesque Baynesfield Dam, but this year has been extended from Tuesday, 31 December at 2pm until Thursday, 2 January at noon.

Baynesfield Dam is an unspoilt secluded natural party paradise, ideally located and only a 45-minute drive from Durban, and a 15-minute drive from Pietermaritzburg.

Experience outdoor IDM culture at its best over three days and on three dancefloors, set in a eco-friendly environment far from the maddening crowds.

The festival will feature three dancefloors, thumping sound systems, video mapping, artistic decor installations, ultra immersive UV environment, performers and a fire pit.

Facilities include camping, safe parking, a dam for swimming, forest walks, serviced toilets and showers, a bar, food stalls, traders market, information booth and lost and found, first aid tent with onsite medics and security.

Free camping is included with your ticket. Bring your tent, sunblock, lilos, swimwear, clothing, blankets, djembe drums, fire poi, positive energy and good vibes. Unfortunately no U18s are allowed.

Directions – from Durban take N3, take EXIT 61, first turn right, continue for 11Km. At T-junction turn left onto R56, continue for 700m. Turn right onto P334, drive for 9km (through a village onto a dirt road). Turn left into Amafullthrottle.

In the spirit of eco-logic culture, remove all packaging materials at home and decant into plastic containers, clean up your campsite and leave only your footprints. No glass will be allowed into event. There will be a glass bank onsite to put any glass inside. Each vehicle will receive a garbage bag for a R5 refundable deposit when you return the full bag. There will be bins placed around the site, please use them.

Win prizes by arriving with four or more people in your car. If spotters see you, you stand to win drink and food vouchers or free tickets to future events. If you are driving post your details and sell your seats. If you are looking for a lift book a seat in a carpool.
