Ward 97 committee secretary volunteers at SPCA for Mandela Day

DUE to home patient care responsibilities, eThekwini ward 97 committee secretary, Frank Horn could not do a similar stint as he did last year by spending 67 minutes on the back of a DSW truck for Madiba Day, leaving him quite disappointed.

He then saw the Amanzimtoti SPCA’s invitation to walk a dog for 67 minutes, but to save time Frank instead donated 67 cans of dog and cat food.

Although pressed for time, he managed to walk one beautiful nameless dog, which he appropriately named Nelson. According to Frank, Nelson was absolutely obedient and a pleasure to spend time with. Nelson is looking for a home and although a tall animal he is easy to handle on a leash and has lots of love to share. Having shared time with Nelson, Frank calls on the SPCA to extend this loving canine’s life a little longer to find a suitable owner. This large crossbreed is a young adult and was just left outside the SPCA gates. Frank took Nelson for a walk and was heartbroken to return man’s best friend to the holding kennel.
