Children’s voices grace Toti High’s ‘Night of the Proms’
Night of the Proms takes place on Thursday and Friday, 10 and 11 August at Amanzimtoti High School.
If you are a fan of musicals, then you need to grab a ticket to Amanzimtoti High School’s next play.
Entitled ‘Night of the Proms’, drama teacher Mikhaila Wilson describes the evening as a British musical and “a night of the children’s voices”.
Featuring a cast of 30 grade 8 to 12 pupils, everyone has their chance to shine and showcase their vocal talents. “Everyone has a lead role,” said Mikhaila.
Night of the Proms takes place on Thursday and Friday, 10 and 11 August at Amanzimtoti High School. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets cost R100, which includes dinner and dessert. Take your own drinks. The evening will run about two-and-a-half hours with dinner served soon after 6pm.
Dress is formal. “It’s a nice opportunity to get dressed up for the evening and enjoy a fabulous show,” said Mikhaila.
The hits on stage start from 1956 with ‘My Fairlady’, to the big hits of Broadway and the West End, ending with ‘Flashdance’ in 2004.
Tickets can be purchased from the school’s finance department. To book, call 031-903-2374 or email wilson@totihigh.co.za.
