Cutting down on alcohol has many health benefits. However, many people struggle with the change.

Here is a list of beverages to substitute that favourite bottle of wine, beer or cider. The selection is also great for non-drinkers:

  • Sparkling water is a great alternative to alcohol, especially if you are a fan of the bubbly.
  • Soda water or tonic water with flavoured syrup or herbs.
  • Spiced or regular apple juice.
  • Water with lemon or mint.
  • Pomegranate juice, which is rich in fruity flavour. Its flavour and aroma are similar to red wine and it can also be used in cooking.
  • Ginger ale.
  • Red or white grape juices are an excellent alternative to wine.
  • Cranberry juice.

If you’re looking to still enjoy the social aspects of drinking, try mocktails.

These mixed non-alcoholic drinks are refreshing, delicious and there are numerous different combinations.
