GALLERY: Duo of Guineas World Records plans next attempt

Duo double Guinness World Records holders, Andre de Kock from Alberton and Enricho Schoeman from Benoni.

Duo double Guinness World Records holders, André de Kock from Alberton and Enricho Schoeman from Benoni, are already planning their next record to be entered in the famous Guinness World Record book.

These veteran stuntmen hold the record for driving through a 120m fire tunnel which they set up in 2014 and the longest quadbike ride through a tunnel of fire of 36.59m.

The record for the longest motorcycle ride through a tunnel of fire was achieved in 2014 in Parys.

They went on to better the quadbike ride in Meyerton on September 14, 2019.

It is no mean feat to achieve what they have done becoming the holders of two Guinness World Records.

With this now behind them, plans are rolling in to better the “Barriers of Fire” Guinness World Record, which is held by an American.

He rode through the 13 barriers on fire with his motorbike.

“We want to break the record having 15 barriers on fire to crash through this year,” said Schoeman.

“This all will once again take a lot of planning, but the wonderful thing is that we are surrounded with great team friends who are always willing to pitch in on their own time and help us.”

Schoeman (61) with his love for motorbikes and de Kock (65), a stuntman for many events, started their endeavours back in 1997 when they had many successful, yet some times not so effective, set up records riding through fire tunnels with both cars and motorbikes.

Schoeman once attained third degree of burns which landed him in hospital.

For a couple of years they refrained from fire tunnel rides, but started again in 2009.

Then, in 2011 at Tarlton, they set up their first record ride through a tunnel of fire, but this was immediately broken by an American.

In 2012 and 2013 they set up records and landed their big year in 2014 when they extended the record to 120.40m in Parys, which, up until now, has not been bettered.

On February 7, de Kock and Schoeman thanked all who helped them with their previous attempts and those who supported them on their way.

If anyone or organisation would like to support them contact Schoeman on 083 268 4275.
