Curro Oakdene allowed parents to view the school and experience its beauty during their Open Day on October 10.

They have spread their wings to accommodate primary school learners from 2021.

When they first opened their doors in 2018, they were just a nursery school. However, from next year they will take learners up to Grade Three and year on year continue with Grades Four, Five, Six and Seven.

This independent primary school provides high-quality education with small class sizes. They follow an enhanced curriculum to empower learners with 21st century skills and knowledge to grow into confident individuals and to reach their personal and educational goals.

Executive head Jen Alexander said they cater for parents who may need to drop off their children as early as 6.30am.

“We focus more on academics for learners. We’ll do homework at the school premises to give more family time after school. We also provide a cooked lunch guided by our professional chefs. There’s a rooftop playground as we know playing is very important for the youngsters as part of learning,” she said.

They provide spacious classes with laboratories for art, science and robotics where learners can experience great learning.

At Curro Oakdene, they embrace 21st century learning by using tablets in the classroom in intermediate phase once phased in.

Rather than heavy textbooks, learners use software to view and study from an e-book, which also allows them to collaborate easily and securely with teachers and peers.

Using innovative technology allows teachers to provide a wealth of information at the touch of a button and better prepares learners for the workplace of the future.
