Lira robbed after Women’s Day function

Lira and husband Robin Kohl were at Thaba Ya Batswana where she was performing for a Women’s Day function, their home was robbed.

It is reported that 10 South African Music Awards (SAMA) together with other items of value were taken, although the suspects have since been caught and have appeared for a hearing at the Randburg Magistrates Court on August 12.

Lira shared her thoughts about the burglary on twitter saying, “My house was robbed last night. Ten of my SAMA statuettes were taken along with so many other valuables. So heart broken.”

Her fans showed support on social media as they hailed law enforcement officers for their efficiency. One of them tweeted, “Big ups to saps on Lira’s recovery of her staff we voted for her to get them.”

The suspects were found in possession of the singers belongings over the long weekend and the couple say they hope that the perpetrators will be brought to book.

Robin said that wife Lira was devastated by the robbery incident, adding “there may be more people involved but we hope that there aren’t”
