
BOOYSENS – From January 1 a total of 33 arrests have been made at Booysens Police Station.
These arrests include: eight cases of common assault, six of assault to cause grievous bodily harm, three of house robbery, six of possession of drugs, three of malicious damage to property and two of armed robbery.
On Thursday January 1 the complainant who lives in the Chrisville locked his doors and windows and went to sleep. He was woken by his bedroom door opening. The complainant saw two men entering his room. One suspect had a knife and threatened him. After the complainant was tied up and covered with blankets, the suspects ransacked his house and left with several household and electrical goods.
Booysens police members were patrolling in the area after they had received a look-out of what the suspects looked like and noticed them buying goods at a nearby garage. The victim was able to identify the suspects and they were arrested.
On Friday January 2 at 01:00 members from Sector Policing were doing patrols in the Bellavista area, when they were approached by a lady who informed them about a serious assault case where the complainant was taken to hospital. As the lady had witnessed the attack she was able to point out the suspects to the members who immediately arrested them. The victim was found in the vehicle’s boot.
Without community members coming forward with information, the SAPS would not have been able to make these arrests. The management of Booysens SAPS wishes to thank the community members who are assisting in the fight against crime.
