New road marking for Rosettenville Clinic

JRA excelled themselves by quick reesponse with the road markings.

ROSETTENVILLE – In mid-February the Benrose depot management of JRA, who had recently been made responsible for road markings, was approached about an urgently needed road marking.

The request, according to Cllr Jane, was for an ambulance bay sign to be painted in the road at the entrance to the Rosettenville Clinic in Rose Street. The purpose is to discourage motorists from parking at the clinic entrance, thus creating a problem for ambulances when they had to collect patients to be taken to hospital.

JRA excelled themselves and the road markings were completed on Tuesday February 25.

The picture shows a car whose driver parked the vehicle seemingly oblivious of the new ambulance marking. “I left a note under his windscreen wiper blade, suggesting the next time he repeated the offence, it could cost him R1 000,” said Clr Jane.

The question that JRA may not be so quick to answer is: If this job can be executed this quickly, why do other reported problems take so much longer?
