Eikenhof WI chooses new committee at AGM
At the March 12 meeting of Eikenhof Women’s Institute the AGM was held and a new committee chosen.
SUIDEROORD – AS well as the AGM being held the group celebrated its 62nd birthday. “I’ll light the candle for the duration of our meeting and to remember all our members who have passed on,” said Joy Boswell.
“Our group is made up of 37 members and I’d like to thank you all for attending each month. Without you there would be no meeting. I’m very proud of you. Thanks to my committee, you make such a difference and it’s super to know I can count on you to help with events. To all those who take part in the monthly competitions, thank you,” said outgoing President, Joy Boswell.
After the new committee was announced, Joy Boswell stepped back in for another term as president. “Thank you all for voting for me to stand as president again,” said Joy.
Cupcakes decorated with the WI logo were enjoyed by the ladies as well as other delicious refreshments.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday April 9 at 09:30 at St Andrew’s Church, Burger Street, Suideroord. All ladies and ladies groups are invited to join and enjoy a morning of fun and fellowship, and to learn more about this worldwide organisation. There will be demonstrations and an exhibition of arts and crafts. Tea and cake will be served.
