60 arrests in six day by Booysens Police Station

From March 3 to 9 a total of 60 arrests were made by the Booysens Police.

BOOYSENS – These arrests include: nine – assault common, 10 – drunk driving, four – malicious damage to property and 15 – possession of dagga.

Offence: Possession of dagga

On Tuesday March 4 at 18:45 members from the Booysens Crime Prevention were doing patrols in the Booysens area, when they stopped two people standing together and smoking. The members went to them and introduced themselves as police officers and searched them. They found a plastic bag in their possession. They arrested and brought them to the station for further investigation.

Offence: Malicious damage to property

On Wednesday March 5 at 11:30, the complainant, who resides in Forest Hill, received a call saying there is someone breaking into her house. She contacted the police and when both parties arrived on the scene, the suspect was apprehended. The suspect was arrested and taken to Booysens SAPS.

Offence: Possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle

On Wednesday March 5 at 19:00 members were doing patrols, when they come across a vehicle parked in the road. The members decided to investigate and noticed that the motor vehicle was wanted in a case that had been reported at Langlaagte Police Station. The members arrested the person in the vehicle for being in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and detained him at Booysens SAPS for further investigation.
