Pole thief suspect caught red-handed

A Mondeor resident recently spotted an African male sawing off an information sign on Old Vereeniging Road, close-by Constantia Avenue, Alan Manor. She contacted Sector 2 patrollers CPF Mondeor and SOS Security, with the information.

ALAN MANOR – Sector 2 patrollers were sent out to investigate and as they arrived at the scene they found the man on Old Vereeniging Road, with stolen poles, the sign board and tools he used to remove the objects, in the wheel barrow he was psuhing.

The suspect was caught red-handed with his wheelbarrow containing tools he used to saw off the sign board.

SOS Security arrived within minutes to assist. The female resident confirmed it was the same person she had seen sawing and removing the sign board.

PR Councillor Peter Stewart was also called to the scene and on request he informed Provincial Road Agencies what had taken place.

The suspect was taken to Mondeor Police Station where a case was opened for theft
