Lace up for kindness: entries for 90th anniversary Run to Play Race open
The November 15 event will raise funds for play-based early learning programmes, with 2km, 5km and 10km routes, family activities and opportunities for corporate teams to participate.
Entries are now open for the Cotlands Run to Play Race, which will bring the Randburg community together on November 15 to support early childhood development as the non-profit organisation celebrates 90 years of impact.
The event will take place at Old Parks Sports Club in Bordeaux, Randburg, and aims to raise awareness and funds for Cotlands’ play-based early learning programmes.
Held two days after World Kindness Day, the race highlights the organisation’s nine decades of providing care, learning opportunities and support to vulnerable children across South Africa.
Participants can choose between a 2km fun run or walk, a 5km run and a 10km run.
Each entry helps expand access to quality early childhood care and education through play.
Through the event, Cotlands hopes to raise awareness of the early learning gap and encourage individuals, families and businesses to support initiatives that give children opportunities to play, learn and grow.
The race will also entertain the whole family, including the Cotlands Pop-up Toy Library, children’s activities, live music, food and a finish-line celebration.
Corporate teams are encouraged to participate in a team-building experience that also supports a social cause.
MDS Collivery supports this year’s event as the official race pack delivery partner. Participants can have their race packs delivered free of charge before race day.
