Hundreds come out in support of school principal

A good woman’s name is being tarnished. As you will see from the messages, Mrs Nicolaou has shown nothing but kindness to all pupils of Mondeor High School, and has taught all of her students not to see colour.

MONDEOR – Over 1 400 face book messages in 48 hours were posted in support of Mondeor High School principal, Mrs Nicolaou, after a story broke earlier this month, when a group of fiver learners had kicked two chickens to death.

What came out of the article published in The Star newspaper was that Mrs Nicolaou had used a racist comment when she said, “the learners involved had blackened the school’s name.”

As soon as community members read this article Facebook was abuzz with messages of support for her. One reader said, “As a past student, it saddens me that a few angry students can take away so much good that Mrs Nicolaou has done over decades at the school.”

The Comaro CHRONICLE has also received many letters in her support, some have already been published.

The CHRONICLE asked if she could comment but she is unable to as all school related issues have to go through the Gauteng Department of Education.

If you would like to send letters of support, the CHRONICLE will try and publish as many as possible, otherwise they will all go onto the website, www.comarochronicle.co.za  Email your letters to: juliem@caxton.co.za
