LINMEYER – According to a security guard from SSJ Security Group, who is stationed at Linmeyer Gardens, across the road from the veld, he said a group of boys were playing soccer at the club and the ball was accidentally kicked over the fence onto the veld.
“Two boys came running over to me and said they had found a body while they were looking for their soccer ball. I went back with them have a look. The man’s body, which had started to decompose, was covered by a red carpet.
“I phoned my supervisor to report the body and he contacted the police,” he said.
A reporter from the CHRONICLE spoke to a woman who has been working in Linmeyer Gardens for 10 years. She said, “There’s lots of funny business which happens over on this veld. I often see men walking there and wonder what they are up to.”
Moffatview SAPS is investigating the incident.
