Suspects rob home in Mondeor

On Sunday April 26 at about 16:30, three African men gained entry into a house in Boswell Avenue, Mondeor, by means of using a cricket bat and a pickaxe handle. A mother and son were at home at the time.

MONDEOR –  “My wife said she heard a loud bang and called out for help,” said the homeowner. Seconds later she saw the three men. “Our son is unwell and is on a dialysis machine so they couldn’t move him but they made my wife go into another room. She begged them not to harm our son and to leave them both alone. Our son told them he was sick and to please not hurt him or his mother. They wanted keys to the safe but my wife told them we haven’t got a safe,” added the homeowner.

The suspects ransacked the home, taking TV’s, cellphones, laptops and jewellery before fleeing.

As soon as the suspects had gone the woman pressed a panic button, alerting Hercules Security, who arrived not long after.

The robbery has been reported to Mondeor Police Station and a case number issued.
