Criminals don’t discriminate

The AACL (Animal Anti-Cruelty League) was hit by criminals during the night of June 24.

REGENTS PARK – Despite CCTV being in place, the thieves managed to crowbar their way into premises and made off with computers, a cashbox and audio equipment. Estimated total value of property stolen and damage caused, is an amount of R30 000.

“Unfortunately criminals don’t discriminate when it comes to charity organisations and we are just as vulnerable as anyone else,” said Tony Guia, chairman of AACL. “As with many others, our funding is so important to us, so it really is quite heart-breaking to think that in the long-run it will be the very animals we strive to protect, that will become the real victims of crime.”
