Pub owner denounces allegations of underage drinking of children funded by local sex workers

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The CHRONICLE contacted Bells Inn owner Greg Bell to get comment on whether he knew anything of the allegations of sex workers allegedly entertaining children with food and drinks in his pub.
“Those ladies of leisure have been there for six to seven years and I have tried to get the police involved, but they do nothing about it,” he explained.
”I have never seen any of the women with children and we will never give kids alcohol; we don’t have any underage drinking at our pub.“They [sex workers] barely buy a packet of chips worth R14.00, so why would they spend money buying alcohol for children?”
A CHRONICLE reporter was in Rispark on June 29, to check whether the sex workers were back in their old locations after the peaceful protest against sex work in the area, by residents, on May 30.
A silver Toyota Auris was seen on Gazelle Road in Rispark where a sex worker got out of the vehicle which was occupied by three men. After a few seconds a woman wearing black suede sweat pants and a matching top joined them in the car.
Although the reporter tried to follow the Toyota Auris at a safe distance, the driver managed to get the reporter off his trail. The car drove off in the direction of the R82.
