ORMONDE – The Johannesburg Magistrate Court sentenced a man to eight years imprisonment after he was caught attempting to flee the scene of an armed business robbery in Ormonde.
Three men are said to have entered the business premises last year on Sunday, October 19. One robber pointed a firearm at the female cashier and demanded cash as the other two suspects held her down.
Her husband, who was also in the room, fought back and attacked the suspects who had grabbed his wife. Two suspects subsequently fled the scene, leaving one suspect to be caught by the husband and a swift security officer.
Booysens SAPS management wish to thank the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Jeremiah Meso, and all the other SAPS members involved in the case for their dedication and hard work in ensuring a successful conviction for attempted robbery and the unlicensed possession of a firearm.
