SAPS detective secures two convictions

Two men were recently found guilty and sentenced in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.

TWO men, who were arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 25-year-old on January 17, 2014, in Turffontein, were recently found guilty and sentenced in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.

One of the men was sentenced to 15 years for murder and was declared unfit to possess a firearm. His accomplice was sentenced to three years for grievous bodily harm, suspended for five years, and 12 months for assault, suspended for five years. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

During the investigation, which was conducted by Constable Mulalo Ramishia from Booysens Detective Branch, four suspects were arrested but two of them were found not guilty.
