BORN and raised in Johannesburg, Charon Farquharson attended Hoërskool President and proudly acknowledges her roots. She studied at the University of Johannesburg.
Charon obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Zoology and Botany (cum laude) in 2006, a B.Sc Honours in Biodiversity and Conservation (cum laude) in 2007 and her Master of Science (M.Sc) in Zoology (cum laude) in 2010.
She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) this year and her research focused on the effects of acid precipitation and other environmental stressors on four frog species from the Kruger National Park (KNP).
