A RESIDENT of Colworth Avenue, Mondeor, Mrs V Jacobs, saw a woman pushing a dustbin laden with clothing along the road and stopped her to ask what she was doing.
According to Mr Jacobs, his wife asked the woman what she was up to and the suspect at first said she was leaving home.
“After that she began to change the tale and my wife phoned our security company, SOS Protec Sure,” he said.
”In the meantime the woman was trying to run off with the dustbin, up the road.
”My wife ran after her and stopped her on the corner of Colworth and Constantia avenues, where she was joined by another resident, and they phoned the police. Together they stopped her from leaving until SOS arrived about 15 minutes later.
“The suspect told the SOS reaction officer where her employees’ child attends a local school and they went and got the phone number for her employees, who were phoned and told what had ensued.”
The 25-year-old woman was detained by Mondeor SAPS for being in possession of stolen property.
