JMPD hosts recognition ceremony for scholar patrollers

The schollars are dedicated and work hard to help others.

A recognition ceremony for 2500 learners representing 180 schools in Joburg is taking place at Wembley Stadium, Turffontein today.

The purpose of the event is to honour scholar patrollers who took part in the scholar patrol throughout the year.

The JMPD will be honouring the learners with road safety certificates and medals for their selfless dedication in ensuring the safety of their fellow learners.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said they haven’t had any accident near any schools where scholar patrollers are present in two years. He said they are dedicated and work very hard to help their fellow learners.

The JMPD and other departmental stakeholders involved are: Department of Community Safety, Gauteng Department of Education, Department of Transport, Joburg Water as well as external stakeholders Syntell and 3M Technologies
