OVER the week of November 15 to 21, the Moffatview SAPS arrested 37 suspects for various crimes: assault common – four, assault GBH – four, business breaking and theft – one, common robbery – one, contravening the protection order – one, displaying of wrong number plate – one, housebreaking and theft – one, intimidation – one, malicious damage to property – three, murder – one, possession of live ammunition – one, possession of car breaking implements – one, possession of dagga – four, possession of unlicensed fire-arm – two, shoplifting – four and theft – seven.
Two suspects arrested for possession of stolen car
On Friday, November 18, at about 15:00, Serg Mbhazima Shisana was stopped by a witness who saw a car being stolen from Spaar on Spares. The witness saw the owner of the car running as his car was being driven by somebody else. The witness followed the car until the suspect stopped at the intersection of Petunia and Park lane and ran away.
The CPF and community caught the two suspects, both of whom are from Eldorado Park. They were arrested and taken to Moffatview SAPS.
Two suspects arrested for theft of motor vehicle
On Wednesday, November 16, the complainant parked his car in South Hills, at around 18:00. The following day he noticed that his car had been stolen. The complainant drove around in the morning, to look for his car, and found it parked in Austin Street. The complainant phoned the police and took them to the witness who had seen the suspects parking the car, and the two suspects were arrested for vehicle theft.
