From Club House to stardom
“Young people are a fragile sector that becomes victims of drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, school dropouts and failures,” said Bradwin.
ONE of the success stories out of the Bellavista Computer Club House is Bradwin Nettlinghan, aka ‘Bradz La Muzik’, who is now a well-established producer, DJ, host and sound engineer at Eldos FM.
This 21-year-old earned his stripes at the Club House where he was a member of the music studio. Today he’s on the fast-track to the big time having completed a learnership programme with 5FM under the mentorship of DJ Fresh.
Bradz attended the teen summit in 2010 and 2014, in Boston, Massachusetts. After he turned 18, which is the exit age for the Club House, he became the mentor and gave back to the community by teaching the existing Club House members music production. This music studio project is a free service for youngsters aged nine to 18 to enable them to connect with individuals who inspire them. The project promotes a positive lifestyle, good living and shared experiences, and builds self-confidence.
“Young people are a fragile sector vulnerable to drug abuse, teen pregnancy, alcoholism and dropping out of school. It is extremely rewarding to work with the youth and provide a positive, healthy environment for them to grow in,” Bradz said.
The DJ bug first bit in 2011 when Bradz started digital DJ programmes. He then went on to buy CDJ’s, early in 2012, where he officially launched the ‘Bradz La Muzik’ brand. Bradz released his first track in 2013.
Bradz specialises in Afro Deep and Soulful House although he also produces other genres when required, such as Hip Hop, Commercial House and Kwaito. He recently released his second single entitled La Muzika Ft Shaunaline, who is one of the recently-discovered artists signed by Ya Sho Entertainment.
The Department of Social Development, which administers the Bellavista Computer Club House, extended its congratulations to Bradwin on his outstanding achievements and successes through the programmes offered at the Club House.
