RESIDENTS in Alamein Road, Southdale are irritated by the motorists, especially minibus taxis which use the one-way road as a two-way road.
This is the short road in Alamein Road between Melville Street and Nelson Road. It is supposed to go up towards Southdale Shopping Centre, however, some of the motorists who come from Southdale Shopping Centre use it especially during peak hours.
“I have exhausted every avenue seeking help because one of these days a major accident will occur. I mean you cannot drive out of your driveway because these motorists come flying down the road. This is a one-way road,” explained one resident.
JMPD Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar was informed about this situation. “I will notify the JMPD area commander to send officers to give fines at Alamein Road.”
