Five-year-old burns in Tulisa Park house fire
“Their needs at the moment are food and clothing,” said Clr Chame.
A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy suffered burn wounds to his head on October 20 when a house burned down in Tulisa Park.
The boy was rushed to hospital but was later discharged. The residents, who live in the house on 16 Austen Street, suspect it was an arson attack.
There were about 50 people staying in the house. James Khumalo who is a member of the Ward 57 working committee, said this was one of the ‘hijacked house’ in the area. “We had people from different backgrounds who lived in this house. They are all now destitute as the house has burned down. There are children here and they need help,” he said.
Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame is appealing to people to assist with food and clothing.
“Their needs at the moment are food and clothing,” she said.
All the tenants lost their IDs and the school children lost their books as well.
Please contact Clr Chame if you can assist in any way on 081 329 7424 or 082 518 4375.
