Christmas fun in the sun

The free event featured all sorts of children’s entertainment including a jumping castle, swimming pool, soccer, netball, tennis and great food to eat.

TURFFONTEIN children under the age of 15 had a blast when Solly Kramer’s Turffontein hosted a Christmas fun day at the Forest High School grounds on December 12.

Samson Mohammed, owner of Solly Kramer’s, said it was a great success and he is happy that so many children enjoyed the event.

“We have a feeding scheme at our premises every Thursday, it started in September 2011. The community of Turffontein benefits from this weekly,” Samson said.

“We used to give packs to the children, however this year we decided to invite all the children of Turffontein to enjoy the day with us. This will now be an annual event. Our aim is also to create a safe and clean Turffontein,” he added.

Amos Mangcipu, Ward 124 ANC Youth League chairperson, who helped organise the event, said they are happy Solly Kramer’s is involved in taking the ward forward and they are supporting them all the way.
